Stardoll High 2021
Opening remarks:
Welcome everyone to the second ‘Hot or Hot’ review! This time we'll take on the Stardoll High event from last week which served us numerous school themed looks.
Before we get any further, I would like to clear the air by saying that the last post's intro was not meant to be a dig at Jailer, the first person to create a look review blog in the sdfb community, as several people thought. It was a dig at all negative and toxic behaviours/situations we have all had the DISpleasure to experience at some point during our time in the sdfb. In the interest of being completely honest, I wanted to inform you that I have personally apologised to Jailer for the misunderstanding when it was pointed out to me that from their point of view it looked like an insult, which was not my intention.
- Mila
Now that’s all out of the way, let's get into what you're really here for.
Here's your judicial panel, with a little twist, as June has hopped on Jane's spot. Many thanks to Jane for helping the blog kick off last week, and hello to June! You may know June from creating numerous fb posts in which she calls out sdfb bullshitters left and right. Hit her up if you need help with a heated sd quarrel, she’s got your back.
This time we've changed it up a bit by exploring a slightly different format, and so you will see two categories of looks: top tier (looks that got 5 votes) and god tier (looks that got 6 votes). Here they are:
TOP TIER:
The fabulous looks in this category belong to Stacy, Eve, Regina, and the duo of Ana and Aizie, congrats!
Stacy
Mila: My school uniform had a skirt with that same pattern but let me tell you - it did not look on anyone nearly as good as it does on Stacy. I love matching sets, and even tho this is not your typical delicate chanel-like two-piece I usually fall for, this look is one of my faves of the night. I adore the combo of red and gold, and the boots and beret work really well with this fit.
Lauryn: Stacy is here! Looking like the leader of the debate team mixed with a little Tyra Banks. Who doesn’t love a classic plaid pattern? This oversized suit is perfectly paired with a pleather beret and pleather boots. The emblem on the jacket was the perfect touch to the look overall. The graphic designers behind this gorgeous ensemble should be proud because it is beautifully made.
June: Stacy, the matching red, plaid set is a hit. Topped with a leather beret, platform boots, and a complementary bag. It doesn’t get any better than comfort. Who doesn’t love an oversized combo?
Alex: The tartan took me back to the old set we had ages ago on Stardoll. Although the plain is traditional, this edgy look is far from that. From beret to combat boots, I love the combo of tradition and edginess that brings this outfit together perfectly.
Jean: Sorry but this is what everyone wants to wear, right? Plaid combined with leather, perfecttt. This is what I wanted to see during SDH. I can't even tell you what my favorite item from the look is, because the items are really cute both separately and together. Stacy definitely knows fashion.
Eve
Mila: This look may be simple, but it's great and very well thought through. I love Eve's take on the school jock and all the little details she thought of to really fit in for the event - the football equipment, the year on the jacket, the necklace.
Alex: Eve I love how you made this a jock look but for a woman. The traditional school pieces are there are were 100% on theme. My favorite part of the look was the letterman jacket. Complemented with the white shirt, jeans and accessories, it helps to bring the full look together.
Aizie: eve doing all of this magic in 13 hours is so mind-blowing, idk where to start seriously, the graphics quality or the smart minimal styling that takes a simple look and make it fun and so pretty to look at! i wish i was this cool back in hs lol, well done!
Jean: I am loving this bomber jacket so much. I gotta have it... It was a look that fit the theme 100%. This is mainly because of the extra elements that were added, which I loved. Very cute Eve ❤
Ru: Eve looks stunning here and the details are crazy good- hats off to the patience and attention shes shown to every single piece in her outfit! What I loved most about this personally was the holo accents on the jacket and the overall look, which really elevated what would've overwise been a more normal-looking jock fit!
Regina
June: Regina! Classic, expensive, you don’t get to touch. I’m loving this vintage style take on a school girl. The brown-white hues combined with a soft baby blue are definitely a color combo to be reckoned with.
Mila: I think this may be one of the very few looks of the night that wouldn't get you in trouble, but that doesn't mean it's boring! I love the vintage vibe of this outfit, we can tell every element is well thought through starting with the socks, through the choice of colours of the skirt, ending on the belt. Very good job!
Jean: It gives me sexy teacher vibes, and i'm here for it. I love the volume in the hair, the color combination and the length of the skirt. The socks with ruffles make the outfit look cute and I'm just obsessed with the bow, 10/10 ❤
Ru: While everyone else went for more modern outfits, this look gave me strong vintage vibes and I love a fresh concept! From the perfectly color coordinated outfit, to that hairstyle being the cherry on top, everything in here sat together so harmoniously!
Ana and Aizie
Alex: Was so hard to pick which one of your looks I loved more. The twinning yellow with hints of pink won me over with how soft it was.
Lauryn: Tia and Tamera who? Mary Kate and Ashley who? The twins from “The Shining” who? Name a better duo. Ana and Aizie look so expensive. I bet their dad’s own everything. Everything about this photo is perfect. Amazing taste. I couldn’t say anything bad about these looks even if I wanted to.
June: Ana and Aizie, it was extremely difficult to choose between both looks brought to the table as they were both jaw-dropping. Name a better duo that rules the school. The choice of twinning fabrics and colors stole the show. A+
Mila: THE BEST OF THE NIGHT! For me, everything is perfect here. I think the fact they're two different but matching outfits make them even more amazing. The colour combo is beautiful, I like that there isn't too much pink but just enough to give the whole fits a little accent. The shoes are to die for, such a good look!
Ru: Honestly the best of the night for me as well; Ana and Aizie stole the show with both of their looks and it was near impossible for me to setttle on one. Here, they look perfect together with the genius pairing of outfits and colors. The way they complete each other's looks so beautifully- where with duo looks, its easy for one look to empower the other, is what amazes me most! But then again, I expected no less from sdfb's best duo.
GOD TIER:
And here are the three absolute favourites, highly deserving of the place in the god tier of the looks: Lisa Lisa, Lauryn, and Nataly!
Lisa Lisa
Mila: I mean, Lisa Lisa, detention pending for sure, but who cares when they're dressed this way. These colours are amazing, and that little jumper with fur is to die for. It's not easy to pull these flashy colours off, especially in a total look, but you made it work well together.
Lauryn: The mug is undeniable! This has to be one of my favorite headshots. That being said…This outfit it awful! Jk. It’s so fresh. I love that you kept it kind of simple but still very fashionable. We love a chocolate girl in yellow. You turned the party Lisa.
June: Lisa Lisa, what’s a dress code? Fashion impedes the need for them anyways. The choice of lime green is an amazing complement with your deep, brown skin tone. The set, so simple, yet so elegant. We love a rule breaker.
Mikatsi: Although I'm not the biggest Blumarine fan, this look suits you so well! I love the bold colors, and the detail of your name on the purse!
Aizie: lisa might not be my msw but she definitely slayed sdh! the choice of this very bright greenish yellow is perfect w such a gorgeous skin tone and face against the background, such a sweet fashionable look that will get all the boys and girls in the school fighting for her!
Lauryn
Alex: Lauryn you never fail to amaze me with your looks. My favorite part had to be the pop of lime to really make this outfit edgy! Your partner in crime with you really brought the look to completion!
June: Lauryn! The perfect ensemble, hitting both gothic/grunge vibes. The pops of green with black leather are definitely complementary, combined with your s/o who is equally dressed to the the 9’s. The result, a serve.
Mikatsi: I love everything about this, from the makeup to the jewelry! I found it so sweet that you added your boyfriend in the concept, I can see that you are both supportive of each other. The plaid is to die for!
Aizie: i love the edge and the coolness of these looks, the styling is so on point the looks work in sync w each other like they were made for that purpose, but r we surprised? Lauryn is always on point w her fits
Jean: I'm obsessed with this look. Lauryn has an eye for detail, and we all can see that. There are so many good elements: the silver jewelry and the silver accents that come back in the boots and chain of the bag, the green braids that perfectly match the skirt and eyelook and of course the oversized leather jacket, everything fits together so well.
Ru: Lauryn and her s/o really killed this look!! I was hooked the moment my gaze landed on that plaid lime skirt. And can we talk about that pop of edginess in overall, which for me, really made this duo stand out amongst other looks!
Nataly
Alex: Nataly you came, you saw, and you conquered! Although we all think of plaid when thinking of traditional schooling, the look you choose moved away from tradition. The ones of navy and red come together to create this perfect school inspired look. The power stance and the hairflip on top of this stunning look show you are in fact in control. Loved every part of it!
June: Honey, this is by far my favorite look of SDH. Mean Girls meets Clueless can only call for this perfect ensemble. I love the traditional plaid, knee high stockings, pops of red faux fur, and most of all the half up half down hairdo.
Mikatsi: This is a great look! My favorite part is the detailed belt and the golden aspects of your outfit. Love the faux fur as well!
Aizie: Nataly was on fire during sdh, not only she made hot looks for others but she slayed w her own look as well, love the color combos and the 2000s vibe this look is giving, not to forget that pretty thick hair, ugh, stunning
Jean: I am in love. Definitely one of my favs. Imagine looking this cute? Not everyone can match purple and red with gold accents so well. There is not only pattern, but also fur used, really a beautiful and fun combination if you ask me. I love that there's skin showing, just enough to make the whole thing even more sexy than it already was.
Ru: First of all, this chosen pose really depicts power, confidence and sexiness which I love because it matches the look perfectly. The pops of red faux fur on the plaid purple makes it even harder to look away from Nataly, and this hair is a perfect finishing touch to the whole ensemble! Definitely one of my favorites!
